Chemical ecology, medical imaging, and questions at the intersection of music and neuroscience.
Research experience
2026
Medical imaging & reconstruction
UNC–Chapel Hill · Lu research group
Undergraduate research in CT reconstruction and medical imaging. I am developing experience with TIGRE, phantom imaging datasets, and the evaluation of noise, resolution, and reconstruction artifacts.
2022–2026
Insect behavior & chemical ecology
Towson University · Shields laboratory
Behavioral assays examining how house crickets and spotted-wing drosophila respond to plant-derived repellents. This work includes experimental design, data analysis, scientific writing, and two first-author papers in Insects.
Earlier research experience
Nanomaterials chemistry
Towson University · Devadas laboratory
Research experience in gold nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, using serial dilutions, micropipetting, UV-visible spectroscopy, and quantitative analysis.
A proposed framework connecting acoustic alignment, physiological coordination, social bonding, and inclusive ensemble design. The questions come from years of listening, performing, and working with other singers.
The current work is literature synthesis, hypothesis development, and proposed methodology. It is not a completed empirical study, and no experimental findings are claimed.
Science education
I also coauthored four neuroscience-education papers in Annals of Behavioral Neuroscience in 2020, on sensory systems, reflexes, neurotransmission, and the brain.
